MENTAL PERFORMANCE

About mental performance coaching.

Understand what mental performance coaching is, who it can help and what to expect from a session.

Mental performance coaching helps cricketers develop the mental skills and strategies that support consistent performance.

That might include managing pressure, building confidence, improving focus, dealing with setbacks, preparing effectively and performing more freely when it matters.

The aim is not to change a player’s personality. It is to help them understand how they perform at their best and develop practical ways of accessing that more consistently.

Players come to us for a wide range of reasons, including confidence, overthinking, pressure, nerves, focus, motivation, preparation, setbacks and consistency.

We also help players improve the quality of their practice and training — for example by developing better routines, clearer intentions and more effective ways of preparing so that what they do in practice transfers more consistently into matches.

The coaching is tailored to the individual rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.

Our coaching is suitable for cricketers who want to improve the mental side of their performance, whether they are trying to solve a specific challenge or simply want to become more consistent and effective.

We work with players across different ages, standards and stages of their cricket.

Yes. We work with both junior and adult cricketers.

For younger players, the coaching is adapted to their age, experience and level of understanding so that the conversations and strategies remain practical and relevant.

No. You do not need to be a professional, academy or pathway player to benefit from mental performance coaching.

What matters more is that you want to improve your performance and are willing to engage with the process.

A session is a one-to-one conversation focused on the player and the challenges or goals that matter most to them.

Your coach will help you explore what is happening, identify useful patterns and develop practical strategies you can take into practice, training and matches.

The emphasis is on giving you ideas you can actually use rather than simply talking about performance in theory.

CHOOSE YOUR SUPPORT

Find the right starting point.

Choose between a focused 30-minute Consultation or the more structured Play to Your Potential programme.

A 30-minute Consultation is designed for players who want focused support around a particular challenge, question or area of performance.

Play to Your Potential is a structured programme of three 30-minute sessions, giving you more time to understand what is happening, develop practical strategies, put them into practice and review how they are working.

If you have a specific issue you want help with, or you would like to start with one focused conversation, a 30-minute Consultation is a good place to begin.

If you want a more structured process with time to develop, test and refine strategies over several weeks, Play to Your Potential is likely to be the better option.

Yes. You do not need to book a Consultation before starting Play to Your Potential .

You can book the programme directly if you already know that you would benefit from a more structured three-session approach.

That is exactly the kind of situation where a 30-minute Consultation can work well.

Your coach can focus the session on the issue that matters most to you and help you leave with greater clarity and practical ideas to take forward.

If you already know that you would benefit from a more structured process, Play to Your Potential may be the better fit.

However, you can always start with a single 30-minute Consultation and then book additional sessions afterwards if you feel you would benefit from more support.

That gives you the flexibility to start with one focused conversation and decide what would be most useful from there.

Yes. Sessions are delivered online, allowing Cricket Mind to work with cricketers around the world.

The Consultation is 30 minutes, and each of the three sessions within Play to Your Potential is also 30 minutes.

The programme is designed to be completed over approximately three weeks.

This gives you time between sessions to apply the ideas and strategies discussed, use them in practice, training or matches, and then review what is working with your coach.

Yes. If you feel you would benefit from further support after completing Play to Your Potential, you can continue booking additional 30-minute sessions with your coach.

That gives you the flexibility to continue the work at a pace that suits you.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Booking and practicalities.

Answers to common questions about pricing, junior players, parent involvement, cancellations and progress.

The cost depends on the type of support you choose and, where applicable, the coach you work with.

Your price is shown clearly during the booking process, with the website displaying the appropriate pricing and currency for your location.

Yes. A parent or guardian can book directly on behalf of a junior player.

Yes, where appropriate.

The level of parent involvement depends on factors such as the player’s age and what both the player and parent feel would be most helpful.

For example, sometimes a parent may join the first session before subsequent sessions take place one-to-one with the player. We take a flexible approach and agree what is most appropriate for each individual.

We understand that plans sometimes change.

We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or rearrange a session.

Every player is different, so there is no fixed timescale.

Some players gain useful clarity or practical strategies from a single session, while deeper or more established performance challenges may take longer to work through.

The biggest benefit usually comes from applying the ideas between sessions — in practice, training and matches — and then reviewing what is working with your coach.
