Individual performance support alongside county programmes
Cricket Mind Online is supporting players involved in programmes delivered by Staffordshire Cricket, as they progress through county and performance environments.
As one of the County Cricket Boards in England and Wales, Staffordshire Cricket plays a central role in leading and supporting the growth, quality and accessibility of the game across the county. This includes responsibility for club cricket, schools, community programmes and the county performance pathway.
Our role sits alongside this structure, offering individual performance support to players as the demands of competitive and representative cricket increase.
Progression brings new demands
As players move through county programmes, the nature of their cricket experience changes.
Expectations rise, environments become more competitive, and players are often required to perform consistently across different formats and settings. Alongside technical development, players may be managing pressure, selection conversations, confidence fluctuations and the challenge of balancing cricket with education or other commitments.
Cricket Mind Online supports players with the mental and behavioural side of this experience. The focus is on helping players understand what they are facing, respond more effectively to pressure, and develop habits that support performance over time.
This support is designed to complement existing coaching and pathway provision, not to replace it.
How one-to-one support fits alongside county programmes
Support is delivered through individual online sessions, allowing players to access support around their existing Staffordshire Cricket commitments.
Sessions commonly explore areas such as:
- Managing expectation and self-pressure
- Coping with selection and competitive environments
- Responding constructively to mistakes and setbacks
- Building confidence and self-trust
- Developing preparation and competition routines
The intention is to give players space to reflect, make sense of their experiences, and take greater ownership of how they prepare and perform.
A referral offer for Staffordshire players
Players involved in Staffordshire Cricket programmes are eligible for a 10% referral promotion on their first Cricket Mind Online booking.
This applies to either an initial consultation followed by a coaching plan, or a single one-to-one session.
The referral offer is intended to make it easier for players and families to explore whether this type of individual performance support is right for them alongside county involvement.
Who this support is for
This support may be particularly helpful for players who are:
- Involved in county or performance pathway programmes
- Adapting to higher competitive standards
- Experiencing pressure around performance or selection
- Seeking individual support outside formal training environments
It can support both younger players developing within the pathway and older players navigating key transition points.
