Online Coach Workshops

A new way for coaches to think, reflect, and learn — together

Coaching is often discussed in terms of sessions, drills, and plans. Less often do we talk about the thinking that sits behind them — the decisions coaches make, the conversations they have, and the environments they shape.

Our new Online Coach Workshops are designed to create space for exactly that.

They offer coaches a chance to step back from delivery mode and engage in thoughtful, practical discussion around mindset, learning, and development — alongside other coaches doing similar work.

Why we’ve introduced Online Coach Workshops

Across clubs, schools, counties, and performance programmes, coaches are being asked to do more than ever. Support players. Communicate clearly. Adapt to different needs. Hold standards. Build trust.

What’s often missing is protected time to explore how we do those things — and why.

Our Coach Workshops provide that space. They are not courses and not qualifications. They are guided conversations, shaped by real coaching experiences and current challenges.

The intention is simple:
To help coaches think more clearly about their role and feel more confident in how they show up within it.

What the workshops are designed to support

Each workshop is built around a small number of themes rather than a long list of outcomes. The focus is on understanding, not instruction.

Common areas explored include:

  • The coaching environment and how it influences behaviour
  • Communication under pressure and in moments that matter
  • Supporting player mindset without over-coaching
  • Confidence, autonomy, and decision-making
  • Working effectively with parents, staff, and wider programmes

Sessions are shaped by the group, allowing coaches to bring their own context into the conversation.

A format that respects coaches’ time

All Coach Workshops are delivered online, making them accessible alongside existing commitments.

The format is deliberately simple:

  • Small group settings to encourage discussion
  • Clear structure without rigid agendas
  • Space for reflection, questions, and shared experiences

This isn’t about being talked at. It’s about learning with others who understand the realities of coaching.

Who these workshops are for

Online Coach Workshops are suitable for coaches working across the game, including:

  • Club and community coaches
  • School and college coaches
  • County and pathway staff
  • Coaches supporting players alongside formal programmes

They are equally relevant for experienced coaches looking to reflect, and for developing coaches keen to strengthen their thinking and approach.

How these workshops sit alongside existing structures

These workshops are designed to support, not replace, existing coaching systems.

They work alongside:

  • Club programmes
  • County structures
  • Governing body education
  • In-house development initiatives

There is no expectation to change how or where coaches operate. The emphasis is on adding clarity, perspective, and confidence to the work already being done.

Led by specialists, grounded in experience

Coach Workshops are led by the Cricket Mind team, drawing on experience across player development, coach education, and performance environments.

The approach is practitioner-led, plain-spoken, and grounded in real coaching contexts — not abstract theory or generic frameworks.

Discussion is guided, not prescribed. Coaches are encouraged to think for themselves and apply insights in ways that fit their environment.
