Cricket Mind Partners with the National Fast Bowling Academy

Integrating Mindset Education into Elite Fast Bowling Development

It asks for resilience under fatigue.
Clarity under pressure.
The ability to reset, repeat, and recommit — often when the body is tired and the margins feel thin.

That’s why we’re proud to announce a new partnership between Cricket Mind Online and the National Fast Bowling Academy — a collaboration built around a shared belief that mindset is central to fast bowling performance and development.

A Shared Commitment to Developing Fast Bowlers Properly

The National Fast Bowling Academy (NFBA) has established itself as one of the UK’s leading environments for fast bowling development.

Working with bowlers aged 9 to 27, the Academy delivers a long-term, structured programme that blends:

  • Specialist technical coaching
  • Physical preparation and conditioning
  • Performance monitoring and feedback
  • A strong high-performance culture

What stood out immediately in conversations with the NFBA team was a shared philosophy: that technical excellence only holds up when a bowler can think clearly, manage pressure, and stay connected to their process.

That alignment made this partnership a natural fit.

Educational Mindset Support for the Current NFBA Cohort

To launch the partnership, Cricket Mind Online will be recording a dedicated series of educational mindset videos for the current NFBA cohort.

These resources have been designed to complement the Academy’s existing programme and will be delivered in two formats:

  • Classroom-based versions
Designed to support group learning, discussion, and reflection within the Academy environment.
  • Mobile-friendly player versions
Shorter, accessible videos that each bowler can revisit individually — giving them personal access to mindset support throughout the programme.

The content will focus on practical, fast-bowling-specific challenges, including:

  • Pre-session and pre-spell routines
  • Managing confidence during difficult spells
  • Staying composed under fatigue and scrutiny
  • Using reflection to accelerate learning

The intention is simple: to give bowlers tools they can use between deliveries, between sessions, and between matches.

Why Mindset Matters in Fast Bowling

Fast bowling is one of the most psychologically demanding disciplines in cricket.

It requires bowlers to:

  • Repeat high-intensity actions
  • Respond constructively to setbacks
  • Compete within highly visible environments
  • Maintain belief even when conditions, workloads, or results fluctuate

By integrating mindset education directly into the NFBA pathway, this partnership helps ensure bowlers are supported not just physically and technically — but cognitively and emotionally as well.

It’s about developing bowlers who don’t just bowl fast, but think well under pressure.
