Providing additional performance support alongside county programmes
Cricket Mind Online is pleased to be supporting players involved in the Herefordshire performance pathway.
Herefordshire Cricket has a long-standing commitment to developing the game across the county, with clear routes for players to progress through age-group and performance programmes. This work is led by Herefordshire Cricket, whose role is to manage, support and grow the game locally while providing structured opportunities for players to develop.
Our role is to sit alongside this pathway, offering additional one-to-one performance support where it is helpful and appropriate.
Supporting players beyond technical development
As players move through county pathways, the demands placed on them change.
Training standards rise, competition increases, and expectations — both internal and external — become more visible. Alongside technical and tactical development, players are often navigating pressure, confidence, selection conversations and the challenge of performing consistently in unfamiliar environments.
Cricket Mind Online supports players with the mental and behavioural side of this experience. Our work focuses on helping players make sense of what they are experiencing, develop practical strategies, and build habits that support performance over time.
This support is designed to complement, not replace, existing coaching and pathway structures.
How this support fits alongside the pathway
The support offered through Cricket Mind Online is delivered one-to-one and online, allowing players to access sessions around their existing training and competition schedules.
Sessions commonly focus on areas such as:
- Managing nerves and expectations
- Transferring training form into matches
- Responding to mistakes and setbacks
- Building confidence and self-trust
- Developing routines for preparation and competition
The aim is to give players space to reflect, think clearly and take greater ownership of their performance.
A referral offer for Herefordshire players
As part of this support, players involved in the Herefordshire performance pathway are eligible for a 10% referral promotion on their first Cricket Mind Online booking.
This applies to either an initial consultation followed by a coaching plan, or a single one-to-one session.
The offer is intended to make it easier for players and families to explore whether this type of support is right for them.
